CUTTING, DEPRESSION, PURPOSE - A Powerful Film That Deals With Some Taboo Issues - NOW AVAILABLE

Isn't it great when you find a great film that actually has a message?
I know personally, whenever I find one, I recommend them to friends and relatives.
Well this last summer, that is exactly what happened with Cloud Ten Pictures THE RIVER WITHIN.
This great film about purpose, deals with some very difficult issues that are normally "taboo" to discuss in an open forum.
Among other things, THE RIVER WITHIN deals with two issues that are rampant among the youth culture today:

This is a great film to show at your church, to your youth group or share with your family and friends.
What a way to open the door to talk about these issues and examine the purpose of our lives!
We just finished our limited theatrical run of THE RIVER WITHIN. The movie was in 9 theaters.
In the first four theaters, this film came in at #1! Keep in mind we were competing with the Hollywood blockbusters!
In the last 5 theaters we came in somewhere in the middle of the pack which is still great because in these theaters the numbers of attendance grew throughout the time it was there.
This means that people were going to see it, and then telling their loved ones, friends and co-workers about it.
Zac Heath, the filmmaker said that, "the best part is when people say 'thank you so much, I was really moved by this film.' or when parents say, "I've got a kid who is dealing with the serious issues of depression or self-mutilation that your movie deals with.' In Zac's own words, "this is the most important part."
Bottom line, people are connecting with this film! If you want to get this film into your church, it is really easy to do.
Churches across the nation are already starting to pick this one up. So get it at your church and show it. You can charge admission or not, it is completely up to you.
If you just want a copy of the movie for Christmas you can go to cloudtenpictures.com or walmart.com pre-order it now.
On November 10th, this movie will be released on DVD in store shelves.

When I was younger, I, like Marcus, cut myself. I felt unwanted and unloved. I had a lot of problems at home, and cutting made me feel something. I didn't do it for attention; I'm not really sure why I did it, but understanding friends helped me pull through. I really identified with Marcus. Looking back, I see how silly it was to think that God's love didn't include me. Thanks for making such an inspiring film. Every youth group should see it!

I am a big fan of low budget sci fi movies and after looking at the $30,000 budget of this movie, which is a lot lower than the movies I watch; I knew I was in for a good unintentional comedy. hOW WRONG I WAS!! This is by far the best production I have ever seen with such a low budget. It looked like a million dollar budget movie at the theater in Iowa. Some of the acting in the movie was really solid. I think what really saved the movie was the realism. The director actually tried to add depth to the characters and write a good storyline rather than just banking off of the name of Jesus like so many other Christian movies.
Elliot T.
I might actually buy the DVD. Just in hopes that it has behind the scenes. I am really interested to watch how they pulled this off.

I've never hurt myself like the boy in the film does, but I could connect with that character. I'm a school teacher and have seen it firsthand. I connected with the main actor very well, because I've had to deal with children's issues just like him.
I got to see this "The River Within" back when it was playing in Smyrna, TN in theaters. It was a very good movie. I didn't know how much money they had, but to me it looked like a Hollywood movie to me. So I guess that's a testament to the directors and producers. The DVD comes out next week, and I'm going to be sure to grab it. Maybe we can show it to our youth group that next Wednesday.
